Again, another busy week for project 7- Bamboo break. This time, the project looked simple, but skillful technique is the hidden secret to make the project successful. The bamboo-to-make is 1m x 1m x 1m. At the eleventh hour, we were told to prepare another small gift made of bamboo. It was a pity that i missed the bamboo workshop due to high fever, therefore i could only finish the bamboo before the class reopen. This is the difficult thing to concern, how to bring back the bamboo from home ( Selangor), But Che Wan said there are always an alternative way. When there's a will, there's a way.
This was the bamboo i "borrow" from my park =)
I like the yellow skin of the bamboo, it was special then the other green and brown bamboo.
I chose to divide the bamboo into quarter as it was lighter and easier for me to bring back. Holiday ended and it was Sunday night when i reached Penang, i have to rush for the bamboo before going to class tomorrow.
Cut the bamboo at the edge of window.
I tried to use metal wire to tie the bamboo.
I could only finish 2 frames for the bamboo cube as y hostel door was too small for the bamboo to bring out. Then i continued with my small gift.
-It was a memo pad-
The next day before class started, i rushed to finish the bamboo cube by attaching 4 more bamboo on the 2 frames. After all the sweat, my bamboo cube couldn't stand firmly!!!! i was in a headache!!!!
This is a fake stand. I slightly pushed the Bamboo cube to the back =D
Many many cubes was carried to place in front of E48B.
After a briefing in lecture hall, a exchanging small gift ceremony was held specially for Raya celebration. We exchanged our gift by throwing into a plastic bag and ramdomly took other people's gift. When we were done with it, there was a small tea break with fried bihun and drinks served.

This was the gift i received from an anonymous, a photo frame =)
Tasted delicious, Yum yum~~~
After eating, Pui Yeen and me did our last fixing work for our bamboo cube.
This was how the bamboo cube ended up after securing with the metal wire. i made a hole through the 4 extra bamboo stick to let the wire pass through it.
Here comes the nightmare.....
Che Wan was trying to point out out mistake on making the bamboo. He was disappointed as the bamboo we made was not meeting his requirement. He stepped on the bamboo cube to show that the cube was actually not firm enough!!! I was standing aside, parying hard for my cube, hoping that my lecturer wouldn't notice.
Heart wrenching T_T
I kindly introducted my bamboo cube. Now your all will know why i was afraid to let lecturer see my cube. It was actually could be defeated by just blowing air on it.
To fulfill the quote of " from lego piece to lego land", we were asked to combine at least 3 cubes into something that is firm and strong enough to withstand our weight when we standing on it. See my cube, it was like practising yoga, so flexible it was....
FEEDBACK:
Do not do my work at the eleventh hour
Do not choose the thin bamboo just based on the reason, it is light. This will fail your project.
Have the 6 principles when doing your project. INTENTION, ACT, PRODUCT, SITE, RULES, ACTOR...
ANOTHER DAY... I was passing by the studio and coincidently, i found alot alot of left over bamboo.... I suddenly thought of making up for my bamboo project.
Sawing my bamboo. I was so lucky to collect 12 bamboo sticks from the trash.
This time i was told by my friend about the joint. So, i took the advice.
What is this for?????
There is a technique to tie the cube firmly by using the rope made of flax. Immerse it into water and pull it with the stick. When the rope is dried, it will expand and make the tie even tight.
Eating in studio, not a bad idea.
COMPLETED!!!
Yeah, this time the cube could withstand my weight.
But the cube still can be shaken. Therefore my friend helped me to make a cross in the middle of the cube. This is a scout's skill.
FINALLY!!!!
My hand was pain and red```
Bamboo Spike!!! Argh!
It was a quiet night. As we missed the bus and the clock had already striked 12, we have to go back on foot.
THE NEXT DAY...
We once attempted to combine our cube again as the previous one was a disaster. My bamboo's bad.
BRAVE!!!!
Last night although it was tiring but at least i dint not give up to make up a new bamboo cube. This spirit is needed to survive in HBP's Life. The product will cheer me up even the process requires patience and skill.
