Today was the fourth day i attending classes in the HBP. It was a nice day and i have a nice sleep as the class started at 2pm =)
but......
When i reached the lecture hall, a white paper was pasted on the door of the hall written:" Class has been cancelled!!" Phew, guess i have to wait until the orientation at 5pm.
Our HBP orientation held with several games at several places. Luckily our university has adequate facilities such as futsal courts, tennis courts, wide field, and so forth. Those non participants were told to go certain events to support their own team, and i went to futsal to give my biggest support!!!

The futsal, a so-called indoor version football was held at the tennis court due to insufficient place to fill the capacity. Astonishingly, students were excited and the court was full of cheer!!! Picture below is the evidence :
When the competition between students and lecturers was begun, the ambience of the court became tense. Respective suppprters shouted loudly and the players sweat out throughout the game.
To cut the long story short, the game ended in peace. No violence and fraud during the game.
All 1st year HBP students were alerted that there a BIG BANG activity will be carried out on this coming 9th July. What is BIG BANG? Big Bang generally refers to the idea of how universe was created in the past and keep expanding in this days. This will related to the establishment of HBP from 1979 and it will continue expanding in this day and in the future.
Day 1 10/7-Friday
OPENING
CEREMONY
Today can be considered that it is just the 1st day for BIG BANG activities. After the
morning lecture, seniors distributed the T-shirts and tags to us. Then, we were
told to wait at E48B for its opening ceremony at 2.30pm.
These were
the T-shirt and tag I received this morning. Cool stuffs =0
Crowd in the lecture hall while seniors were distributing tags and T-shirts. Students were assigned to different groups and were queued accordingly to groups.
SUPPORTING
OUR FUTSAL TEAM!!!!
On the same
day, we were told to gather at the stadium to support our futsal team in the
JUNIOR Vs SENIOR FUTSAL game!!! This evening game was aimed to end yesterday
uncompleted match. We sat according to groups and I get know to a lot of new
friends. Surprisingly, there was an international student in my group.
This is the
friend I knew from BIG BANG. She is really nice, very grateful and opposite
from my clumsy characteristic, and most important she is patient. (Left: me,
Right: Gim)
This is the
international student I mentioned just now. She travelled from Saudi Arabia and
I’m sure that she faced a lot of hardship to survive in other people’s country,
so we as a Malaysian must take care of her nicely.
ICE BREAKING
The ice
breaking was held at night. After dining with my friend at the nearest café, we
went to Dataran Merah. Tonight, we were told to do a sculpture by our
innovation. This was very tough as the activity was trying to examine our
creativity.
Our group
started by providing our own ideas following by exchanging the ideas and each
and everyone have to make the model that other member provided. Then, we combined the model to become a
sculpture where each and every portion was the effort from every member. This
was likened to the proverb a house divided cannot stand.
The
sculpture ended up like this:
Pretty cool right!!!
After
completing the sculpture, a presentation was a must for each group to explain
their sculpture’s structure. This was an ultimate hard task to me because I’m
Ms. Afraid- to- speak- in- public. Plus, each group has to create their own
cheer!!! I can only pray hard and ask for help from the bottom of my heart…..
Was watching other group performing, at the moment, my heart was pounding very fast.
After the
activity ended, there was a downpour and all of us were stucked at the Dataran
Merah. I and my friends had no choice but to call a cab to pick us. It was a
no-pain-no-gain night. We learned to bring a bigger umbrella next time as small
umbrella was light but useless to protect us from heavy rain =(
DAY 2 11/7-
Saturday
SPECIAL
MODULE
10a.m. We
gathered at the same place like yesterday. Today, still a lot of people show up
even everybody was dead beat. Another task was assigned to every group and we
needed to make a module with the following instruction:
Firstly, we
discussed about the structure of module with the guidance of our group
facilitator. The activity was aimed indirectly to examine our group co-operation. Therefore, sharing and accepting every
member’s idea in the process of constructing a module was crucial. After all
the discussion, we started with all the limited material provided to us.
The module was finally completed!!! My group member (Joe) made a triumphal gesture =D
Before the real landing, we made some pre-landing test on the module. It was really successful and worthy as we skipped our lunch and our stomach were grumbling.
At 2.30pm, our senior asked us to gather again to start the competition. Before launching the module, we were told to cheer in front of our senior. Then, one of my group member displayed the module landing and it was really successful. To our utter astonishment, lot of students amazed because our group's module has the longest time landing.
We performed our group cheer before launching the module.
Our group module!!!
We were checking the egg after landing to ensure there was no crack on the egg. Surprisingly, our egg was still flawless and undamaged.
My group - Group 3.
The best group ever. Everybody strived and gave the biggest co-operation.
Tonight was a heavy rain night. The weather was torturing us as explorace was begun tonight.......
Before the game started, we were all wet as the journey to the event was on foot. This is a non-picture section as our phones were kept by senior to prevent it from lost. The explorace was quite fun but at the same time quite disgusting. There were 8 stages and everybody ended up with flour, yolk and our bodies emitted some odd smell =/
DAY 3 11/7- Sunday
PRACTICING PERFORMANCE
What is metamorphosis? Metamorphosis is similar to the meaning of transformation. This was the title that we would perform tonight. We gathered according to our group and figured out our performance tonight. Our group made up our mind to do a fashion show from 60-an attire to 90-an attire. I'm told to wear a 60-an attire =D excited.
GRAND DINNER
Tonight was the last night for Big Bang orientation. I observed that people were wearing all kinds of clothes and masks. Oops, it's a MASQUERADE night. I did wear my 60-an attire and mask. Dinner was provided too.

Its our fashion show. That night, only our group performed fashion show as other group performing drama and so on.
People were queuing to take their food. The food was quite delicious....
Ehm, no offence but shouldn't USM emphasized that no polystrene is allowed in our healthy campus???? Look what utensil we used for dining...

Those were other groups' performances and senior singing section. Surprisingly, some seniors can sing very well. After all the performance, it's time for giving prize. Congratulation to GROUP 3, my group had won the soft landing competition!!!!! Hamper was given to us.
Before the grand dinner ended, there was a prom king and queen section. My friend got nominated unfortunately she din't win, how sad it was. The below picture was the prom king winner.
After the prom king and queen competition, the grand dinner finally ended!!!
We enjoyed and gained tons of experience from it. Well done seniors!!!! BRAVO!!!
