Have you ever heard that youths can create miracle just as adults do? Yeah, finally before entering 20 years old, I got a chance to create something special and enormous. Our HBP has been sincerely invited to revel in a Merdeka Celebration at Penang Times Square. We are the pioneers who are going to contribute our innovation to the Merdeka Installation for the countdown cerenomy..... |
-The Youth Jam's Flyer- The 2 minutes sketch on the rightside was the reason we chose to be the relasing team for this event.... Pretty amazing as we have no idea at that time but came out with a simple idea.... which made me realized, simple is the best =P | To my utter astonishment, the organiser for this Merdeka event was a group of teenagers at my age. They came to our university to brief us about the schedule and the ideas they yearned for. Their tactful briefing and gesture made me looked up for the coming Merdeka event.

DAY 1 - Visiting site
To make things prefect, first we have to visit the site at Penang times square. 
Penang times square is still undergoing renovations, therefore the whole building is empty with few shops only. Which means very few people will come to the Merdeka event, and this is a difficult aspect as we have to attract people with our balloon idea.
This was our site to launch the countdown balloon event. A beautiful scenery where we could see Komtar from behind the fountain.

We wandered around at Times Square and found the KDU "artists". For them, we were nothing different compared to a paparazzi.
At night, we had a simple discussion at Nasi Kandar Istimewa ( nearby my hostel) with our lecturers, Cik Wan and Sir Najib about the mechanism of releasing balloons. It was proud having that discussion with our lecturers. They sacrificed their resting time, stretching their heads just to help us succeed the event. Besides, they helped to modify the mechanism, made it easier to accomplish without changing the general idea of it. BRAVO MY LECTURERs~~!!!!

It's still a way to go to Merdeka Day!!!
DAY 2- BRIEFING & CELEBRITY TEAM
There was a costume competition on 28 Aug( the friday before Merdeka), whoever got chosen would be the celebrity team to launch the countdown ceremony!!!! Everybody got excited as the celebrity team would be shone with spotlight and would get attention from audience, surely it was proud to be.

Everybody was waiting for the result, but unfortunately we were informed that there was no celebrity team.... meaning that, there's no winner =( but everybody was required to wear their costume on the event day.
